Throughout my life I have struggled with my weight. After having my second baby in a matter of 2 1/2 years I was the heaviest I had ever been and was bursting out of the size 18 pants. I was tired and could barely play with my kids. I knew I needed to get into shape to be a better mother and wife so I started my weight-loss and fitness journey.
About six months into my journey I had lost about 40 lbs. I was very proud of myself, but realized to get the results I wanted in the mirror I needed to incorporate weight training. At the suggestion of a friend, I began using Fitbod because I wasn't exactly comfortable with the equipment and I didn't know what exercises would help me lean out and build muscle.
Within the first month I noticed my shoulders and arms starting to tone up. I was so happy and couldn't believe the results I was getting. My weight-loss journey has slowed down in the past 6 months, but I have leaned out, lost inches and continue to build muscle mass.
Did you change anything in addition to exercise/fitness?
I have followed the WW (previously Weight Watchers) Freestyle program throughout my journey.
Any specific fitness goals that you have?
My goals are to get to my goal weight, participate in a marathon relay team, improve my 5k time, continue to up my weights, tone up for summer, and maintain this healthy lifestyle!
I feel so much more confident and comfortable in my skin. I also am amazed at the things I can do in the gym that I never could have dreamed of doing just a year ago.
With the help of Fitbod I have lost 65 lbs in a year. I am so excited to see what I can accomplish in 2019.
Advice for others:
Small successes add up to big results! Take pictures and measurements. My biggest motivation was seeing the results in photos and on paper (ex. losing 3 lbs in a month, upping my weights for dumb bell curls (heyyy 15 lbs!) and slowly seeing myself transform!
