The future of fitness lies in data, and we’re looking for our first Data Scientist to help usher in the next phase of growth and innovation for Fitbod. Analytics is a core competency at Fitbod, and you will work with a leadership team with deep experience in data analysis and proven record of turning health and activity data into a concrete fitness guidance.
As an early hire in a pivotal role, you’ll not only be the go-to person for Fitbod data, but also help build out our data science team!

Your areas of focus may include:
Automated fitness guidance and exercise prescription:
Iterate and fine-tune Fitbod’s flagship workout recommendation engine, by leveraging advanced statistical modeling, machine learning, or data mining techniques.
Work with health & fitness domain experts to build models for translating sleep, nutrition and health data into personalized exercise prescription.
Define and build generalized user profiles from our dataset and measure fitness progression for given user profiles.
Assist in publishing public-facing reports describing unique insights from our unique data set.
User Behavior and product/business analytics:
Do deep data dives in our product to order better understand user behavior, how recent changes have affected metrics, and where optimization opportunities may lie in the conversion funnel and user life-cycle.
Measure and monitor core business metrics such as active users, customer retention, subscriber acquisition cost, customer lifetime value, and more.
Design, run, and analyze A/B or multivariate hypothesis tests.
Also work on data-analytic projects in life-cycle marketing, including driving subscriber growth by managing our paid marketing channels and strategize opportunities to improve advertising efficiency.
Extensive experience using relational databases such as PostgreSQL and non-relational databases such as MongoDB and Redis.
Fluency in Python as well as familiarity with statistical libraries for the language such as numpy, scipy, and pandas.
Experience in other programming languages such as Ruby, bash, Java, R, or Scala.
Solid understanding of statistical inference, experimental design and analysis.
Apply statistical and econometric models on large datasets.
B.S / B.A Degree or equivalent experience.
Communicate your findings in presentations, build dashboards and visualizations, and be the go-to person for questions about data.
Bonus if you have the following:
Given that you will work across a variety of domains in this role, the ideal hire will some experience in product analytics, marketing and operations analytics.
Fitness-minded, practicing strength-trainer or posses knowledge about strength-training best practices.
Experience in exercise physiology research relating to health or human performance.
Comfortable putting on a Dev-Ops hat and (assisting in) setting up any tools necessary to improve data gathering and processing.
